It's all quad channel ddr3 ranging in speed from 1600 to 2400mhz. Nothing old here.

I predict that there will be very little real-world difference between any of them. The only place memory speeds are making much difference is with the new AMD APU's.

What's really scary is now it's smarter to run 64gb of RAM, forgo the SSD and use the RAM as a RAM disk.

Use, say, 16gb of RAM for the OS and the rest for storage.

Also, the faster speeds will make a difference when accessing RAM when using a RAM disk.

I would love to switch but it's just to much cash at this point.

For a comparison my Intel X-25m Sata 2 SSD reads at around 134mb. A RAM disk will do the same around 5000mb! It will probably be about the same price between the SSD and the RAM.
