Did anyone see The Avengers over the weekend? I'm planning on seeing it this friday and just wanted to know what everyone thought of it...

I went in very excited about it and when I left I was actually surprised that it was better than I expected. I took my wife also and she wants to go see it again as well, something she NEVER wants to do.

Pretty much the best Super Hero movie I've seen!

This. Definitely hoping to see it again soon, I got stuck really close to the screen and it sort of ruined the 3D. Every scene with the Hulk = epic fucking win.

Will the "DVD" be out in time for the next LAN? I either missed movie time, or it didn't happen at v10...

The movie was pretty good, but overly predictable -- especially the ending. I was hoping for some sort of surprise or slap-in-the-face ending, but alas, was disappointed with that. The action was good, and there were some pretty funny moments as well.

My Review: The movie is Badass. I saw it yesterday in 3D at the Rave. It may be one of the most entertaining movies I have ever seen, delivering exactly what you would expect out of it. It's action packed, Plenty of little comedic events to keep things up beat, the effects and sound are realistic to the genre and the movie just doesn't disappoint. One of the best things in my opinion is it felt like it took the best parts of each movie that led up to the avengers and threw them in a way that worked. For instance, think of all the things you love about Tony Stark from the Iron Man movies. His witty comebacks, cocky attitude, over-the-top playboy type, its all in there.

I suggest seeing the movie in at least 3D (if you do not have vision problems with 3D). I saw it in 3D and loved it. Hawk-eyes arrows were staring you in the face, objects flew at you after being smashed by Thor's hammer, etc. It was a very good 3d experience.

I give it an A+ and if you or someone you know has even the slightest interest in Super Hero or Comic Book Hero movies, I think you will like it.

One of my friends has the vision problems where i can't "see" the 3-D, so i said i'd buy him a beer after to off-set the extra cost... B)

They kind of have a story line they have to follow, cause if they did anything different fans would have their heads on pikes.

I'm not a comic book reader, but aren't they all pretty simiar? A bad dude does something, the hero kicks his butt, next...
I know they build on the characters some, like with Iron Man 1 & 2, but they can't really re-invent the characters, they just need to make the comic book real life... I guess they could try to put something in their for the comic book fans, then make the next comic book refer back to the movie, but i'm not sure how all that would work.
