A good portion of Logitech’s most recent product introductions have really just been refreshes of old products. The G602 wireless mouse was really the only fully new design to come from Logitech in a few years up until very recently. Not too long before I went on vacation Logitech introduced their newest mouse the G502 Proteus Core. Not only is the G502 a completely new product, but it is also the only Logitech Gaming product to also include a name beyond their standard G naming scheme. That must mean that the G502 is something special to them and they really wanted it to stand out. Today I am going to take a look at the G502 Proteus Core to see what it’s all about and find out if it is worth getting excited about, let’s dig in.

Wanted to add some thoughts to this as I have been using this mouse for the last month. The mouse is great for gaming and my current mouse of choice. Your review is spot on but I wanted to add to it, specifically the part about the free movement of the scroll when.

The feature is very cool and I like it, well not at first. You see the wheel is VERY free moving. So much so that you often over scroll or accidently scroll back when you finish scrolling. This is not the course scroll system of other mice it takes a bit of control.

Logitech did realize that some people would not like this option so they added a click button that engages a ratchet feature to the scroll wheel like most other mice used. The issue is the ratchet has a cheap feel to it and is way to overdone for my tastes. If Logitech would lighten it up a bit I would be happier.

Overall still a great gaming mouse.

Sounds pretty similar to the infinite scroll feature they have had on a number of mice of the last few years. My Performance MX has that too. Infinite scroll, and click and do the draggy scroll deal. I prefer the infinite.
