So potentially lower temps and less power draw, but you have to buy another new board. Well at least the folks that manufacture and review the hardware will be kept busy for awhile longer :P

how often do people really upgrade their CPU? The differences between Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge wouldn't be enough reason for me to want to sell my CPU and upgrade. I don't think another change in socket would effect more people than the every other year socket changes do now.
