Remote PC Access was created by Twodavez
I have some friends who i would like to share files with over the internet. Instead of putting them on a thumb drive to move them, what's the best way to share them? Could i set them up as a torrent? or give them a username and password to access my computer remotely?
I think we talked about this in the past, but i couldn't find the topic...
Thanks

or you can download Hamachi, and make it seem like your computers are on a lan. and you can also play games that way to, thats what me and the people that i play MW2 use, and we play rts through that and you can get files from each other that way,

I'd say Hamachi is the way to go if you trust everyone you're sharing with. It's just like being on a LAN. I use it to do off site back up of the files from work to my house.

Hamachi looks like what i'm wanting. I trust the people i share with, plus i could limit what the see and are able to do on my PC, just like at a LAN. right?
Thanks guys, i knew you'd have a good idea of what to use! Saves me tons of time buring to DVD or putting on a USB drive!

It's the same as a LAN, If all your own computers are Windows 7, you can give them all read-write access by putting them on the same Homegroup. Then regular users can just get read-only access.

Hamachi is a good option. Other options would include things like setting up an FTP server on your computer, or building a WHS or Linux filer server. Works best if you have a good upload speed on your end.

Hamachi is by FAR the easiest of the solutions. I like my WHS because I can remote desktop to my machines on the other end through it, it does automatic backups, and works as a media streamer.

Yeah WHS is a very nice thing to use to, had it at one point but i got lazy and Hamachi was so much easier.

It's simple enough for my in-laws to figure out :-)
