Sims 3 & My wife was created by Twodavez

So my wife just got the new expansion of Sims 3 and she loves the game. She's currently got a HP Pavilion A1700n PC and i'm looking to upgrade it a little.

The video card i have in it now runs constantly and doesn't really even run the game in max graphics.
Anyone have any suggestions?

For the GPU?

I would say anything that has 1 6pin power connector. The PSU in that thing is probably pretty small.

Maybe like a 550? or a 450? Could go AMD? I would get the smallest cheapest card available that will work without upgrading anything else.

i put a 5550 in a similar pc recently for a friends wife to play Sims 3

you need to look to see if it has two extra molex plugs or one six pin. If not you will have to stick with cards that dont require external power.

Garfi3ld should have my 8800gt that I left on the f/s table at LanOC, I'll give it to you for a steal. My daughter was playing Sims 3 on it just fine at 1280x1024 max settings.

Well Maybe Lersar can bring it to the LAN next weekend and we can see if it'll fit and how it looks.
What's a steal? $25.00? I'm not even sure what it would be worht, but the quietness of her PC would be worth at least $25. :-)
