I am thinking about building a mirrored array 2x2Tb 7200rpm sata drive solution for my current media (video, audio, photos) storage.

My current setup is a 3.5" 750gb and a 2.5" 750gb drive running over usb2 through a Thermaltake Black 2x exteral drive bay. I tend to have to manually copy my new media and would love to find an automated way to keep the drives in sync.

What do you use?

I use my old computer, AMD Athlon 64X2 2.6GHz, 8GB DDR2 RAM 4TB Storage (Spread across 6 HDDs of various sizes). This machine runs Microsoft Windows Home Server 2011 with the DriveBender add on. DriveBender allows me to pool the drives into one volume.

I like this setup because it allows for media serving, automatic backups for other computers on the network, remote access to my media and computers.

Microsoft also included a free domain with the server software, so when running a game server from it, it makes it super simple to connect.

Unfortunately, the WHS line has been discontinued.

I use Windows Home Server 2011 with 6tb of storage in it. Works awesome. I run it from a dual core PC with 8gig ram. I run plex server on it and use plex media player to steam all my media to any device in the house be it tablet, android, roku, smart TV, phone, etc

I currently have a Windows 7 Home Premium machine, dual core AMD Athlon 64 x2 4200+, 4Gb RAM and 7Tb of storage using Plex media server to stream content to my TV computer and other devices.

Right now that system has no backup, I have a NAS device that I am slowly adding hard drives to to become the backup for the media server and other stuff on my network.
