Well with green fury on hold right now because of damage during shipping I am going to just start on the project I was planning on doing this fall. I really and just playing this one by ear. The case came in but I have no idea what I will be doing beyond that, other than water cooling. Here are a couple pictures to start

That is a reallly sweet case!

You should build something really crazy stupid in there.

I have some Pentium 90 boards with PC-133 SDRAM if you like. ;)

I jumped into putting this thing together late last night but ran into a couple snags.

I finished cutting out the back plate but didn't get any photos of it.

After that I installed the water block and ram onto the motherboard.

With the motherboard ready to go I secured it to the motherboard tray and went on to finallize the locations of all of my water cooling. This is when I realized I would have to notch the motherboard tray bracket slightly. So the last thing I did before posting this was remove the motherboard again. After I get the tray notched properly to fit the radiator I will post up again with another update.

After digging through the garage to find the hack saw after moving I notched the bottom bracket to fit the bottom of the motherboard tray to give room for the radiator.

Here is a quick photo of the CPU back plate hole. Its not perfect but I just need to be able to access the back of the water block if needed.

A little touch up paint to at least cover up the silver

Next I need to add notches in the bottom mesh for each of the screws I will be holding the radiator down with

Notched the mesh

Here it is being test fitted

Before installing the radiator I have to install its fittings

They even included a tool to tighten them down with

The bottom of the mesh and radiator after I installed it

The fans and grills installed on the radiator

The motherboard moved back into the case with the radiator. Its a TIGHT fit, hooking up the front panel wires is going to be a major challenge

And a preview of what's next, I have to install the radiator and pump. I have already mounted them in a 5 1/4 drive bay plate.

Notice the name on the radiator is upside down, I have to check to see if it will be noticeable with the side panel on. No matter how I installed it the name was upside down.

Next is to route the tubing, install the bluray drive, and install the hard drive.

Looks good! My main thoughts were "dang, 1200W is huge!" and "mine was definitely not this complex."

yeah 1200 watts will cover anything I do with it in the future, and some. Its a 80 plus gold certified PSU so it has great power efficiency (although considering its extremely high wattage and the load I will be putting it under it will be a little under its efficiency)

Okay today's work

Plextor bluray burner goodness

Installed, nice and sexy

The tools needed to install the water cooling tubing

Tubing installed and routed

That tube on the left was a major pain because of the short length.

Time to fill it up and test for leaks

Put paper towels down, more to point out a small leak than anything else.

I installed the pump and res down low to give me easy access to fill this time around, the only bad thing is it also means I could have air in the lines easier, I may change it later but for now its much easier.

The lines look so small, I may change things up later with bigger lines and a few right angle fittings to make the tubing a little shorter.

The fill port with all of the foam from just getting it going

I don't think I'll ever be able to do water cooling, just too paranoid. But it looks cool.
Kinda surprised to see a disc drive; I personally plan to use an external for all my future computers.

I normally don't use a disc drive on builds but when you have it not being used I might as well put it to use.

Alrighty, the water cooling has been running for over 24 horus at this point without any leaks. Next is to install the PSU and start the task of wiring this thing ugh.

wtf i said horus instead of hours on my last post lol, and noone pointed it out.

Anyhow, Here is what I did today

Starting in on the wiring I noticed that the front audio panel connection has a mess of wires on it. I acted like each wire was going to stop the bomb from going off and pulled each pin out slightly and trimmed the extra wires off of it. After putting it all back together I realized that the white wire was going to stand out so I grabbed wire sleeving and sleeved it, making sure to use heat shrink tubing on the end before I put it all back together. I didn't get a good picture of it but will get a better shot tomorrow when I hopefully finish everything up.

I also realized that the hard drive was installed in a way that was hard to reach the plugs. Because I already had it out I went ahead and swapped it with a Crucial SSD that I pulled out of my Level 10. I also had to flip the SSD around backwards in the mount to make sure the label would show up when looking through the top mesh.

After that I didn't take any more photos but did make a little headway on wiring everything up. I just have to finish up a few details and then clean it all up before powering it on. Another update soon to come.

Oh I am..

Well its been sitting in the middle of my floor for a few days without me touching it. I finally sat down and spent a whopping 20 minutes to get the wiring finished. I should have done this sooner, it would have saved me the trouble of stepping over it all of the time.

You wanna know why no one noticed it? Our brains only really see the first and last letter of a word. that word had the right letters so people tend to see it as the word intended.

Example:

"Arocdnicg to rsceearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn’t mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoatnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer are in the rghit pcale. The rset can be a toatl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit pobelrm. Tihs is buseace the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe."

EDIT: My sig doesn't help trying to read that.
