After blowing a considerable portion of the tax return, I was able to rebuild my PC. It took the course of a couple months to not tick off the wife too much. The trick was to buy her something, along with each purchase.
-The New-
Core i5 2500k @ 4.6ghz (I've had it up to 4.8ghz, could go higher)
Asus P67 Evo
8gb PNY 1066
MSI Radeon 6970 2gb
3-23" Samsung LCD's
SATA DVD burner

-The Old-
OCZ Agility 60gb SSD
2tb WD HDD
Cooler Master 750watt P/S
Thermaltake Element T
Razer Death Adder
Saitek Gamer Keyboard
Kilpsh 2.1 Speakers

6048x1080 is brutal. The GTX260's couldn't hack it, which is why I got the 6970. Bad Company 2 plays smoothly, but I can tell I'm going to need a second one and then a bigger power supply if I'm going to be truly happy. I may have to donate plasma or something to afford it.

What luck! I was able to sell the majority of my stuff and then found an open box deal on Newegg for another 6970... $261.99. The best part is, my wife won't know about it because the lady who bought the stuff from me, ordered with her credit card. I'll just slap it in my computer when she isn't looking and BAM!!! She'll be none the wiser.

That is awesome Chris. I was going to let you know that you need 2 cards to really take advantage of Eyefinity but you found out anyways. Glad to see i'm not the only one enjoying 3 monitor wide gaming!

BTW, homemade monitor stand FTW. There's no way I was paying $200+ for one.

Yea, they are not cheap. The one that I was looking at was around 300 I think.
