(I don't know why I called it a RIGamortis in the title either, please ignore)
I've been looking to build a LAN pc for a while now. I was jealous of the guys I see effortlessly bringing their PCs to the lan and hooking it up within minutes and gaming right away. For this build I didn't need something flashy, I just wanted something small to hook up and game. Here are the parts!
Your Starting Line-Up
Cooler Master Elite 130 Mini-ITX Case
Intel Core i5-4670 Haswell 3.4GHz
Asus Maximus VI Impact Mini ITX Motherboard
Cooler Master Seidon 120V
Silverstone 1000w modular power supply (yes, I already understand how much power this is and what my system needs. It was a great deal, OK?
)
The Recruits[ - These parts will be added in the future when I am able to purchase them. Temporary grunts will stand in place for now.
ASUS GeForce GTX760 2GB GDDR5 OC-selected GTX760-DC2OC-2GD5
Currently using a Zotac 550ti AMP! Edition.
Samsung Electronics 840 EVO-Series 250GB
Currently using a borrowed OCZ 120GB SSD.
Kingston HyperX Red Series 8GB DDR3 1600 Memory KHX16C10B1R/8
Currently using a generic stick of 8GB DDR3 1600.
**Using a 750gb backup drive for extra storage right now, looking to upgrade to something else later.
All of this running on a Windows 7 Home Premium license I had that was unused. First install of windows was a little rocky. Windows driver updates really screwed stuff up, (future note. Make sure windows driver updates is sure as shit, turned off before even connecting to the internet) hardly anything was working correctly, system restore couldn't save it, I had to reformat and give it a go again. But not until after I updated to the latest bios and the board and then everything has been working great after reinstalling windows.
