Seriously, JJ, when are you going to start your own custom mods shop?? I don't think I've ever seen a mod of yours that wasn't great - helps that you're going after unique designs each time. Apparently someone else agrees if Intel is sponsoring you - congrats on that! Can't wait to see how your projects progress.

Other than that, you really should consider either upgrading your lighting or getting a better camera (or renting a pro photographer to take some snaps of it).

For this particular project, you may want to consider, if you can swing it, some SSDs. If it's going to be an HTPC, as close to instant-on as you can get is better.

Time to un wrap

I did spray a resin release agent before i poured the mold so it would not stick too bad.

To square it up I did a little cutting with a dremal & hack saw!!!

Ok took a few shots to see how it looks on different surfaces

a little more work on the cover and then i will start on the base

Looks really good. I'm guessing the INtel people are going to be a little happier with this mod than the Pumpkin we did for the LAN OC v5.0 :silly:

Update 4# Just another little update.

Worked on the base as well as the fan cutout

1st I made some cuts into the case for the base to fit in.

Cut a square piece of acrylic to fit

Made some reminders

A little tapping action

attached the base

A nice solid fit

Looks like a good place for a fan

Did pretty well getting it start by hand, did finishing using the drill at very very low speed

and the end result

There might be a forum that still has it up. It's an animated gif of a well endowed girl lifting her shirt. It ended right before the part that got Janet Jackson in trouble.

Ah, yes, now I recall. The good ol' "frustration" animation. As I remember, I believe she was using scissors to cut the front of her shirt in half, to be precise.

BTW, case is looking great, jj! Will the final product have a lighting theme (all blue) or will it be a colorful ice cube?

Amazing!
No SSD? Too bad you couldn't just boot it from a thumb drive, you could've made it even smaller...

yeah a 1.8 inch SSD would be perfect in there, or a compact flash card if your not looking for a lot of speed.
