Just a heads up, if you are a BF3 premium owner or have pre-ordered BF4, you can now preload the BF4 beta client in Origin. It's about 5 1/2 gigs and launches Oct 1st at 4AM.

Its really cool how the game is 64bit. It will be interesting to see what kind of performance benefits it will bring, if any.

Anybody playing this beta planning on being up at 4am to play? I was considering it. If there were a few people involved, we could party up and have some fun with it.

Besides 4AM, ill be playing around 6:30ish after work.

I did get up and play the beta this morning. Ran pretty good. Had a great match. I livestreamed it, and here is a link to the best match I uploaded to YouTube.

Game is actually pretty good, my main gripe is the client side hit detection. And also that to use c4 now you have to go recon.

I've actually had some framerate issues because of the 331.40 beta drivers, and I'll copypaste what I've been saying on Facebook:

"So for those of you running an nvidia card and are experiencing low framerate issues like myself and so many others battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/forum/thre...55065213640419515/2/ roll back your drivers to 320.49. I did, and from what I can tell, the game is running MUCH better now. Granted, I just tried in an empty server (and I turned off HBAO and occlusion type things), so I'll report back later once I log into a populated game."

"Here's the Win8/Win7/Vista 64 bit driver link for 320.49: us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/320.49/32...4bit-english-whql.ex "

"Confirmed. Rolling back my drivers fixed my issues. For the record I'm running a Phenom II X4 965 Black @3.8GHz, 8GB ram, with a eVGA GTX 680 2GB Superclocked. My CPU is the obvious throttler, but this game is now VERY playable, whereas before, it really wasn't. I must say, I'm impressed that I'm getting 30fps with everything set to Ultra, sans some anti-aliasing and occlusion stuff (too much drain on FPS, as well as adding a "fuzzy" effect that has become common in games lately). Unfortunately, I'm having difficulty joining a server; the game will hang on the loading screen indefinitely unless I Alt+F4. Going to reboot and see if that does anything."

I was able to join a 64 man match and the game ran like butter after rolling back my video drivers, but I think some network issues are popping up now that a lot of people are home and hopping online. So that's where I'm currently standing with all of this. Dreyvas reminded me that BF3 had similar issues during its beta, so it's very likely that all of this will get resolved soon. I honestly love the beta experience, I don't really understand the folks who get into the game and just whine and complain about things, as if it's supposed to be a final, polished, experience. Noobs.

Just the opposite for me. Game was unplayable for me until I went to beta drivers.

Yeah, from what I'm reading online, YMMV. For me (GTX 680) the beta runs just as well as BF3 on 320.49.

I updated to the 320 drivers this morning, and had a little lagginess this morning. Tonight, I updated to the beta drivers, and after the game crashing about 10 times, and 2 reboots, it does seem to run better for me.

Intel Core i7-3820
16GB RAM
EVGA GTX680 4GB

I'm not saying anything, I was genuinely surprised that you are all running the same video card. I feel like if asked on any other game we would see a bigger variety.

Just messing with you there.

Regardless of performance and driver issues, I had a blast playing last night with the many that were on... Dreyvas, memm0man, eralias?, and I think one more.

EDIT Rythmatic was the other one.

Interestingly enough, the only one I have on my Origin friends list is Dreyvas.
