Well, LoL requires skins to scare your opponents into submission as they think you're a leet pro at that champ. And I mistakenly bought the full copy of Tackmania, but they got me with the nostalgia of having the original cars. At least I can get some special skins and models to scare my opponents into submission in TM!
And dodgeball requires balls. ;P

Haha becareful, this is how I got hooked on TF2. I'm sure there will be plenty of CoD matches too.

I won't be making it to this one but I have to agree the lack of shooters (besides TF2) was a bit disappointing. I think the free games aspect is pretty nice though so I'll give that to you guys but most of us that play TF2 bought it long ago. Anyways I think if enough notice for the game list there is no excuse to not have the games for the lan.

You mean lack of tournament shooters? What does the date of purchase have to do with it being a good candidate for a tournament game?

We typically see CoD4, CoDMW2, CoDWaW, TF2, Crysis Wars, Battlefield BC2, MNC, and CS:S played at the LAN, its probably the strongest genre at the event.

Can i make a suggestion that we don't pick the hardest map at the beginning, with only 1/2 of the quarterfinalists finishing the map, it felt like a cheap loss. At least if i could finish it, it wasn't just luck to get it done, it was skill!

I can understand. Except if it's not a map that requires you to go full speed throughout. You should be able to finish even with a few mistakes.

I recommend medium-difficulty maps throughout, but I'm sure you guys have everything planned already, so I'll just leave you to it

How sad is it that I'm getting to the point where I'll probably grab Homefront next time it's on sale just for the sheer fact it's a new FPS that supports true LAN play?

Ill have a homefont server at the LAN. lol

Does the Homefront demo have any multiplayer capabilities?

If I could give you my Steam copy, I would. I'm glad that they stuck some sort of LAN in, but it was late, and their server browser is junk. Demo works for MP, but caps the level at 5 or 10. Not like levels come fast after that. lol
I would've preferred they fixed the maps and imbalances versus adding more maps and LAN.
