You guys may have noticed a few changes around the website today. The site will be going down at some point late tonight for me to do a little work on it. I just wanted to warn everyone :)

Have fun and pick out a game or movie to play while we are gone :D

Wow, I really like the new look on the top, but why the red lettering on the forums? it's certianly a wake up in the morning... Could we vote for the Blue again? the Red is honestly just a little hard to read, especially in front of a light grey back-ground...

In other news, i was able having the formatting issue, but it seems to be fixed today. now i can see all the Ads! horay! B)

yeah I will work on the forum text color later today, that wasn't an intentional change. Let me know if you come across any other issues or things that are hard to read.

I hope this doesn't turn into a "bad" list, but i'm sure you wanna know how the users like the new feel of the site... Keep in mind it looks really good and i'm sure with a few tweaks it'll be back to the feel we're used to...

When I click on the green (New 1) after the title of the topic when in the forums, it doesn't automatically takes me to the newest post i haven't read yet. I really liked that feature if it's something you can turn back on. If you need a better description of what it's not doing, just let me know. It's kind of hard to explain.

Also, after i'm done posting, the only way i can see to get back to the "Recent Topics" screen is to click on the Forums button above. There isn't a way to get back to the recent topics screen after viewing a topic...

I like the way the top looks. I'm not a fan of how the background texture makes everything look prison grey. But if we even had some borders or something that kind of made everything look at little more separate then it would work. Even a white bg might be better. Just my suggestions.

see the new woot.com for an example of how the white with floating context looks a bit more lively.

I like the blue color. I could even use a little darker blue since the grey background for some reason really plays with my eyes.

This was one of the main reasons for the change



And don't worry guys I will be tweaking and changing a few more things. I only got about 3 hours of sleep last night. I might get a little sleep before digging in to much.

still a couple issues to work out, please keep letting me know of any other issues

-profile edit button is broken (damn you java)
-a lot more tweaking the forum theme
-look at small adjustments to brighten things up slightly
-make sure lanoc reviews beta doesn't last as long as gmail beta

I can't have stuff on both sides and fit the large image sizes that I like in the reviews without making the site a little to wide for the average user's screen. Along with other tweaks I will still be adjusting the order of things as needed until I'm happy with it though.

I guess i always thought the websites scaled themselves to the users screen.... Didn't know you had to set that stuff up manually.

I must say now that the creature comforts are coming online, i really do like the look even more. It's nice having the "Index, Recent Topics..." tabs at the top of the forum section.

I like them on the bottom. When I use the forums I have my bookmark set as /recent. That is what I click on. Anyone else?
