Master Old School Recommendation List was created by Lersar

Hey all,

We're getting to the point where we've exhausted a lot of the old school games that we as staff have or have had experience with. So for upcoming LANs, we're looking for some recommendations for the old school tournaments. This will be ongoing from LAN to LAN, please feel free to post titles even if they have been mentioned, it gives us some insight into the amount of interest in titles.

Kaboom does sound like a great idea but in the past it usually is a vs. game.

NES
Super Spike Volleyball
Techmo Super Bowl
Jordan vs Bird
Life Force (score for winner)

SNES
Any fighting game

Really any one v one sports, puzzle game (puzzle fighter). Maybe Outrun of some sort of time/distance traveled 1v1

we can do 1 player games as long as they have a score. But the problem with that is they sometimes take longer dragging the tournament out and when its only one person at a time it takes twice as long already. But I am still open to them.

N64 - Super Smash Brothers. I wouldn't enter this because I am shit at all Smash games, but I could think of quite a few people that would enjoy a tournament of this.

Has F-Zero been done before? For some reason I'm thinking it has. If it hasn't it should definitely be considered.

Another +1 for Twisted Metal 2, oh my god, that would be so much fun.
