Wow, i didn't think we were getting to out of line. everyone has an opinion and i feel the more you censor, the less you'll get from everyone...
Do'nt we have enough Admins on the site to monitor the 20 posts a day and delete what they feel is inappropriate? After some of the questionable posts in the Random Stuff forum, i thought it was turning into a free-for-all in that topic. I do'nt see anyone posting porn (except the jiggly boobs on the "where did the space go" topic) and no curse words. I say let the adults do what the want.
hopefully the guidelines just help inforce the no porn pics and cursing rules and doesn't hamper the ability to say what you think about a topic. I think the KARMA should be a in indicator of what the community can handle. Unless you want to build a certian type of people posting on the site

I think you're taking this a little too personal. No one is censoring anyone, and to me deleting posts without reason is more of a censorship then just stating what everyone should consider common sense. Those 'admin' you speak of need something to stand behind when the time arises, so no one can claim they didn't know.

I'm only going to say this one more time: if its not a wall of random text or a shameless advertisement, it has a place on this forum. The post in the Random Stuff you refer to is fine; if you have a problem with it, don't go there. But it should have a NSFW tag, though in the OP's defense I'm sure they never imagined would need one. But that's the beauty of interacting with others.

Perhaps some more suggestive items should then be put behind spoilers and warned about content. Guess how someone would know to do that?

The guidelines aren't meant to restrict anyone. Don't blow it out of proportion.

I didn't take anything personally, and i guess i didn't see the point of having the rules that that they could be in forced, instead i was thinking the rules would inhibit the activities of the site.
Rules are good so that people can't say they didn't know, i just wanted to make sure that they weren't to strict or pointed. General rules that can be interpreted for each individual circumstance is a good policy in my opinion.

I'm actually glad to see a post outlining what we consider good and bad on the forums here. It's been a little fuzzy, but not much of a problem; We're all adults here.

All in all, I'm sure the rules will be made to protect us, rather than restrict us.

simple.....dont be a douche bag and pop ur mouth off (not directed at u).....just saying if one cannot simply discuss something in an adult way...since we are all grown up......then dont post PLZ B)....and yes ppl are entitled to there own opinions but thats kind of an issue as well even if they dont mean to ppl with specific opinions always think theres is above everyone elses which can also stir up tension. We are all here for positive fun so at least think before we type.....i myself am a target of this as well sometimes i jump in and make comments that can make it worse.

I actually have a mouse converter for one of my consoles, I don't remember which. Never tried it out, just thought it was neat.

without structure an organization can only function up to a certain size.
The intent of this thread is to ask our opinion of what we think rules should be. I guess i really havent seen any honest rule ideas posted.. ( even my humorous post included).

Here is my shot.

1. New threads should be posted in the appropriate sections. Mistakes are made but a best attempt at organization should be made.
2. Personal attacks aren't constructive nor permitted. If you have a personal issue with someone report them to the administrators or keep it to yourself.
3. Flaming and Trolling for the sake of themselves will not be tolerated. Humor is cool, but posting replies that are just disruptive is counterproductive and unnecessary.
4. Keep on topic with the intent of the thread. If a secondary conversation begins to occur post a new thread and title it appropriately.
5. Discussion promoting illegal activities is prohibited. Posts with instructions on how to defeat software copying measures should be delt with appropriately.

Generally speaking so far the admins have stayed hands off. This is cool but sometimes i think their detachment becomes a detriment when things get out of hand.

There have been several times that the "old timers" have gone after new people for posting outside of what they consider to be useful or appropriate. This has resulted in several posts and threads that were down right caustic.. This kind of thing cant happen if we want to help Wes and Lersar grow this site into something worthwhile.
Yes, we are the sites community, and yes our contributions help. But it is THEIR SITE. Its their hard work and dedication that make it as worthy as it is. Our petty fighting only causes good current users to leave, and potential users to be turned off by the antics.

really, were friends.. act like it.

Lets be honest.. better forum -> more people -> more attention from vendors and sponsors -> bigger and better lans -> more people -> more swag and it just ramps up from there..

Ya never know.. if we can get ourselves figured out,, down the road,, it might even mean some extra dough for writing reviews for wes..

lets not ruin this for them.
