How to support us

So as much as I would love to spend the countless hours working on our coverage just for you guys/girls, I do have to also make sure to pay the bills. Given that this is my full time job, that means bringing in money for me, paying for the dedicated server, domains, and also hardware and testing equipment. So there are a few good ways to help support the website if you enjoy it here and our coverage has been helpful. You aren’t required to do any of these, but here are a few ways to help keep things rolling.

Amazon Affiliate Links

This is a big way to support us without ever having to deal with ads or giving us any money directly. The links, if you buy something soon after clicking them, give us a cut for the referral. Remember the point of our coverage isn’t to push you to buy the exact product we are covering. The point is to hopefully educate you on your options and hopefully help you get an idea of what you want to be looking for. So while we do include amazon affiliate links on all of our reviews, they aren’t specifically for you to buy that item. If our coverage helps you decide for something else, clicking the links and picking up the competitor's item still helps support us.

Other Affiliate Links

Matterhackers - 3DPrinters and Filament  - Wyze

While I would never ask for it, here is an option for those of you who want to toss a few dollars our way.

So if you haven’t ever heard of Patreon before. It is a website where you can donate to creators (like us) and even setup a monthly donation. This is still completely new to us but it was suggested that we try it out. If it becomes popular I would be open to suggestions on how to provide extra content to Patreon supporters. For now, the only benefit is a Discord status, but you also get to know that you are helping support the website as well.

Here is a link to our Patreon account

We do try to run ads whenever possible on the top and right side of the page. This is only as long as our ad providers are keeping our ads none obtrusive and safe for our readers. So please consider keeping us whitelisted and letting us know via our contact page anytime there is a problem with our ads.

One of if not the largest Ohio Lan currently. LanOC events are central to many major metropolitan areas in the tri-state area. Located in a 150+ venue, our semi-annual events feature two days of case modding, tech-geek-themed activities, and of course gaming. We work with a large number of great sponsors to provide a prize raffle throughout the entire event. We always sell out early so be sure to register as soon as possible!

Hotel Reviews from LanOC Attendees

Contact us if you want to let everyone know about your experience at any of the local hotels/Motels.

D-RAYMAC here...and I had the pleasure of staying at the Fountain Inn in Van Wert for Lanoc v19. While the inn isn't the most aesthetically pleasing lodging option around town, it makes up for it by giving you BIG bang for your buck and being a budget gamer, this is exactly what I was needing! Lets go ahead and get the negative out of the way first. The building is dated as you can see with their bathroom sinks, hardware in the bathtubs, and some drywall and ceiling finishes. From what I can tell the inn has gone through a few renovations in its time and things are a bit wonky to the eye(conduit for electrical wiring on the outside of the wall, etc.) That is where my criticisms come to a halt. As for the bang for my buck, it started when I first arrived and met an extremely friendly staff. They had a very easy check in process(I used an online booking service but the staff encouraged me to let everyone else know that in the future to call the inn direct to book your stay and mention the lan to get their cheapest rate)and I felt taken care of from the start. We chatted about what brought me to town and they quickly understood I was in town for that "game thing on Fox Rd." Yes folks, the word is out in Van Wert about us "playing games and drinking soda" as the staff member lovingly put it. After getting to my room, I noticed the first thing I always look for when staying at a hotel/motel. I had a clean room! From the carpet to bed sheets to no dust on fixtures, everything was tidy and well kept. The amenities are really where things shine here too. At nearly half the cost of the chain hotels around the area, I still had free wifi, cool blowing air conditioning, a microwave and semi-tall fridge, plus a good looking flat panel television all with being the closest lodging option to the current location of the lan which is the Senior Center. My only other nit pick would be the size of the rooms. As a 6'4" plus sized man, I felt the room to be a bit small. I will say that there is plenty of room to get around the bed and to the bathroom but don't expect to do cartwheels here. Believe me, I tried! There is adequate room for your overnight bag and items from the day and/or snacks, Bawls, snacks, and oh, did I mention snacks? Seeing as I only spend about 8-9 hours at the MOST in the hotel during a lan event, cost is a big factor and I feel my money was well spent at the Fountain Inn. So, for the next event, if you don't feel like getting a kink in your back or neck from sleeping under the lan tables and don't want to break the bank, give them a ring and check their rate and be sure to mention you will be in town for the "game thing!" :-) Happy Gaming Everyone!
