I have been saying for years that the next evolution of PC gaming would be setting up a uniform gaming platform for people to be able to have a lower buy in cost while still getting the premium experience that a PC can offer over console. This is because there are two things that consoles always have over PC's, a much lower buy in cost and a uniform platform for developers to create for. Its not that PC gaming NEEDS ether of those options to be popular, PC gaming just needs both of those options to overtake the popularity of console gaming.
