nbcam copyThose that know me best are aware that my passion for electronic gaming goes behind just playing them. I’m an advocate for video games and the industry they are born in. Amidst a society that is constantly looking for scapegoats, the bright side of that industry is often masked by constant, unjustified blame. This is one of the many reasons I get excited when I see groups such as Child’s Play and Extra Life using video games as a means to raise money for very worthy causes. One that hits very close to home for my family is the fight against breast cancer.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a partnership between organizations and agencies nationwide to help raise the awareness and education of the disease. The need for research of treatment is an obvious goal, just as important (and often overlooked) goal is prevention. The symbolism of pink has been used for years by supporters of the fight against breast cancer.

Having a wife who is determined to paint the desktop I built her in one of her favorite colors (pink), I know how hard it is to find computer hardware or peripherals that are not only pink, but not marketed for a seven-year-old. As a PC gamer, it can be tough to represent your support against breast cancer.

SteelSeries is one of the few companies answering that call, offering a Pink edition of their Siberia v2 full-sized headset. The Siberia v2 is a product we’ve covered in the past, offering great comfort-ability and quality, both in playback and recording. Even if you are already bonded with your current headset, consider picking up a pair for LAN parties: they travel well and you’ll be able to show off your support for Breast Cancer Awareness. Or maybe you have a significant other who will appreciate your concern for both her favorite colors and her bossums.

The Siberia v2 Pink edition is available for $89.99, with 10% of the full retail price being donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. You also have the option to donate an additional amount to the BCRF upon check out.

Those are pretty baller. I think they'd even look good on a guy as they are a muted pink and don't appear to be too bright. I love my yellow ones i bought at the last LAN OC!
