HELP!

I am trying to figure out if my video card is going out or not.





I get it most of the time now. My laptop is a Asus G73JH if that helps.

When do you get thoes artifacts? After playing a game? I think you said that they are there most of the time now.... I agree that if you can take screenshots then your vid card is probably ok. Are you getting any BSODs along with the artifacts?

But don't screen shots just pull from the frame buffer?

To be honest it may just be the forums, I have had some weird things happen to me while scrolling through before but I'm not sure.

Just like garfield said, does this happen all the time or just a single incident?

Sorry for not replying faster school is kickin my ass. But it has gone away. I restarted my pc and poof gone. don't know what caused it but have not had it since.

You say all is well, but really crap like that is bound to pop up again. If you're all up-to-date on drivers, browser patches & plugins, and have adequate airflow over your critical components, then I've got two suspicions:

1. Bad RAM - run memtest86+ (obtain from www.memtest.org/ )
2. Southbridge problems. Get some airflow over that thing or clean out its fan. Install a program like Speedfan to monitor your temps.

Could be PSU or CPU, too, I suppose... VERY unlikely it's your video card as others have pointed out since you were able to capture it in a screenshot. Good Luck.

Thanks for the post Reaper but i have not seen this laptop going over 91c and that was at lanoc 7.0 lan for a contest. So i know heat isn't a problem and dust isn't either only had this laptop for about a month and i won a laptop cooler at that lan. but i will run the memstest. and let you know what comes back
