The Oregon Trail hates me.

I don't even remember how I got through this game so easily when I was a kid. Fucking dysentery.

I had one back in the day for Win3.1, and I edited some files to change what the illnesses were. So insead of dying from dysentery, you would die of PMS for example. I was hilarous to see that "Jason died of PMS" LAMO!!!!!

This would for sure be an awesome OLD School game! who can get the best score in the game and still make it across the trail! I'm sure there is a legal open source version of it out there!

All you need to do is run it inside DOSBox.

A contest would be awesome! Take screenshots at particlular parts in the game, and whoever has the best score at the end wins something... like respect! And like they said in GTA2: "And remember, respect is everything!"

Im actually a registered member over there. Havent visited in a while, but still registered.

I always got diareaha when I played. For some reason it would happen in real life too, that was why I stopped playing.

Aaaaaaaalright.... The only thing I got from the game was a busted keyboard. When everyone would just up and die for no apparent reason on the last leg of the trip.... GRRRRRRR!!! >

Maybe it was because the last leg of the trip I would set them on a greuling pace with meager portions and make them push that until either a. We reached the end or 2. they all died!

I tried doing a speed run, and everyone died at the first river crossing.

Always remember to check out the depth/length of the rivers before you attempt to ford it.

You never ford the river... always cauld and float. You will make it across 90% of the time.

I played through this game the other day, and finished. All 2 survivors in poor health. I think my ending score was 27!

EDIT: Ran through again this morning, finished in just over 16m. All in good health, score of 5298! I will post a video later if anyone is interested in seeing it.

Oregon Trail zombie style.

1536 points at the end I was the only one who made it, you know why? BECAUSE I FUCK SHIT UP!!!

That one was tough! I only made it about half way!

Made it with Me and two other survivors with 1592 points!! It was fun!

Here finally is my playthrough. It is almost 15m long.

It is a 15 min video. Kinda boring I suppose to watch the little oxen and wagon bounce along for that amount of time. I tried to make the soundtrack interesting at least.
