L4D2 The Passing Preview

So Valve is apparently aiming at an early Spring 2010 release date, and here's some info on it:

New survival campaign, versus and survival arenas.

Its going to have the first four survivors meet the second four at some point.

The jukeboxes in-game will feature a new Midnight Riders song, and you'll soon be able to play their music on Rock Band.

New Uncommon Infected: Fallen Survivor (survivors who THOUGHT they were immune)

New gun: The M60, which is a big-ass machine gun

New melee: Golfclub

A witch bride?

Apparently, only 3 of the 4 original survivors will survive this time. One will have to give his/her life for the other three's safe escape. From what I've read, there's a little debate on whether it's a pre-determind specific character, or simply a choice the four of you players will make in-game, meaning it can be anyone.

Sounds great, I liked the original 4 survivors better anyway.

As for the title, "Left 4 Dead 2 The Passing" ? Uck! I hate it when they name it after the last game and add a subtitle. It sounds like an expansion, which is exactly what I don't want: getting forced into buying L4D2.

Excited to see what the new uncommon infected are and hope they add more variety and originality.

It's actually just 'The Passing' campaign, an add-on for L4D2. Its named similar to 'The Parish' campaigns or 'Death Toll' from L4D1.

Oh, I see now. I'm still not buying L4D2.

That's neat. There is an update coming for L4D1 following the Passing that will tie into it, which is only playable through the first game.
